1What are the benefits of using NASO to schedule a speaker?

Working with NASO to secure talent for your events ensures that booking speakers, programs and entertainment for your event is the easiest part of your planning process. From developing creative programming ideas to securing the speaker to managing contracts to arranging logistics and travel plans, our experienced staff will be there with you at every step in the process.

Nowhere else will you get the inside look at officiating and what goes on behind-the-scenes of the field or court. Comfortable being in charge in front of national audiences at the Super Bowl, NBA finals, and other sporting events, our speakers have experienced the biggest and best that sport has to offer. And that experience has provided them life lessons unlike no other.

Most importantly, NASO is a not-for-profit organization and our Speakers Bureau helps us to meet our mission of presenting officials and officiating in a positive light.

Working with a Speakers Bureau like NASO offers the benefits associated with the close relationships we have developed with our speakers over the years; giving you inside access to their schedules and insights into fee and honorarium flexibility. None of these speakers would be available otherwise without their commitment to NASO and what NASO stands for.

In addition to the experience gained throughout our years in business, we're flexible, so we are always prepared to handle any unforeseen situation that may arise at any point during the process. Ultimately, we work hard to help ensure that your event is a great success!

2What type of events are NASO speakers available for?

NASO's speakers are available for a wide range of programs, events, and non-traditional engagements, including:

  • Keynote addresses
  • Client recognition events
  • Customized onsite seminars and workshops
  • Executive briefings/retreats
  • Commencements
  • Motivational seminars
3How much does it cost to book a speaker?

The speaker fee or honorarium can depend on a number of different factors, including: the type of organization and nature of an event (for-profit vs. not-for-profit), how far a speaker has to travel, length and number of presentations, and demand for a speaker's services. Additional expenses such as travel and lodging are not included in the honorarium.

The honorarium paid is tax-deductible for your organization. With our broad range of speakers, we can find a speaker to fit any budget.

4Does it cost more to book a speaker when using a speakers bureau?

No. NASO prides itself on having a personal relationship with all of our speakers and in many instances, we are able to provide a more reasonable cost than a traditional Speakers Bureau.

We actually know our speakers personally as they all are active members of NASO. That means that we know each speaker's preferences and the factors that influence them to be more flexible in their fee requirements. These factors include type of organization, audience or event, the location of the event, and promotional opportunities for book sales, just to name a few. And, as we work with speakers on a daily basis, we are able to help you save on travel by tying into existing travel plans.
